Hand-Dyed Fabric - Easy?
I purchased this book because I adore hand-dyed fabric and from what I could gather off the internet, this was the book that could show me how to dye fabric myself. I like the fact that this book spells out everything, but I'm not so sure that dying fabric is as easy as I had hoped it would be. There are a lot of instructions and supplies. I really wish this book had an updated version because while the process may stay the same the references are outdated - obviously. I've read a number of sections a couple of times but in order to understand how the whole thing works I believe a person would have to take some time and really study this one. I hope to at least try to hand dye some fabric and I think this book will be very helpful but I will probably need to find another book to supplement this one. It's a very good book if you can get it at a decent price but I wouldn't pay top dollar for it.

The color "Endive" means green?
Good quality fabric - but the color is not as expected, it's more of a green than a wheat type color.

StrataVarious Quilts - GREAT Instructional Quilt Book!
I bought this book because it looked like FUN! I wanted to try something not so traditional, but not difficult either. This book hit it on the nose! Every page is in color (great quality) and there are more than enough diagrams that show every step of the process. The quilts are bright and cheerful and the patterns can be used with any fabric pattern and will produce fabulous results! You don't have to be an expert quilter to make the quilts in this book, even beginners can grasp these contemporary patterns. The patterns also lend themself to using up scrap pieces, which is a good thing! This is a wonderful quilt book!
