Not for a standard tub
This rod extends out more as it is lengthened. The standard tub is 5 feet, so by the time you have extended this out to the 5 feet length it sticks out past the tub over a foot and a half. Now if you had a round Jacuzzi tub and it was framed into a base but you are tired of bathing and want to shower in your tub then this would probably be good. It is not good for a standard tub that has a toilet nearby, or a sink unless you want to put that behind the curtain as well. I had to laugh but ultimately it was a waste of time and the description should show the distance the curve protrudes beyond the tub wall. The quality is fine and good for the price.
