Stop Devaluing the Breath!
Stop Devaluing the Breath!!
After reading Dr. Kenner’s eye-opening piece on how breathing isn’t just breathing these days, I was able to gain an understanding on how the “system” of breathing is more involved than air goes in, air goes out.
The primary takeaway from the book is about climate change (of course, it’s in the title). This isn’t a political tirade about climate change, but rather countless examples of how climate change can be causing breathing issues in many people. Once you see where Dr. Kenner is going with the ideas behind her work, it all starts to click. I used to never have a car covered in pollen in the spring. Now, if I leave a car parked for a couple days, the car is blanketed in pollen. This massive amount of pollen can’t be a positive thing for us to be breathing in, allergies or not. Our bodies adapt, but perhaps not in a constructive way unless you get a grip on it. If you go to a doctor, you get an inhaler (look at the cover!!) and some allergy meds and away you go. If you read this book, you’ll see there are alternatives to consider and also lifestyle changes that can help considerably.
Don’t just stop at pollen, consider the massive amounts of rain we get at a time. Extra water is extra mold. Mold can’t be good to breathe in either. We also are a very “inside” society, we work indoors, trapped in dust/dander/mold/etc. All of these factors add up as restrictions we are dealing with on a daily basis.
I’m far too dumb to understand some of the science presented in Dr. Kenner’s book, however I trust that it fully backs the methods she is presenting as solutions to care for ourselves.
There are many thoughts that come up after you put down the book, you’ll endlessly be thinking of things that may be messing up your breathing. If you’re an athlete, it’ll be even more on your mind, probably more than trying to compute the probability of getting a 43 streak of a single color in 64 trillion games of roulette.
Get the book, read it, understand it, question your lifestyle, and make some changes for the better.

No issues yet, 23g each
Cages seem fine, I don't have hours and hours of riding on them yet, but they hold well on the road bike. 23g each, I weighed 2 of them and they were the same weight.
I do wish they were matte finish but for the price I didn't care.

Incredible - consistent
This thing is incredible. We confuse "accurate" with "consistent" and use them as the same. I have no idea if this thing is accurate, but, I can tell you it is consistent, which is what we need. I checked it on every tires in my garage for fun. Then I took my trusty floor pump, inflated a tire to 60psi, and then tried this gauge, and sure enough it wasn't the same. I checked it a couple more times, and other than the small bleed out of air from the on/off of the gauge, it was the same. Know what happened when I put my floor pump back on? 8psi off. Do I care about the 6psi off itself? Nope. Do I care that I can't get the same number each time? Yes. Now I can. Buy it.
