Cheap but first steps in home automation start with home brew devices. Great learning curve for those wishing to get into home automation.
Works great. Easy setup and firmware update do come along for better control and supporting more networks.

Close but needs software update
I have had this card for approx 6 years and it has always performed really well, recently I lost the optical bracket and though I may as well buy another complete card and optical bracket as it has performed flawlessly. Drivers are very simple to setup and the card also has what you will find non existent on every card today is a 15 pin midi/game port. I have some midi keyboards which were designed for the PC and have 15 pin outputs which join with zero fuss. Integrates with software such as Propellerheads Reason and Record with no hassle but I will add it was a tad tricky setting up the Midi port MPU401. Good clarity and fast response with Optical TOS and Coaxial SP/DIF will integrate with many 5.1 surround systems with no effort. Was a bit confused why it won't trigger the DTS and Dolby pro Logic signals on some audio tracks designed for 5.1 but that may be a software setting. Overall excellent but I have read the SP/DIF is up converted from a stereo signal and the card does not support true 6 speaker systems...well the DTS test prove this wrong.

Great compact little camera with good quality images and great battery life
An awesome little performer that has many strong features. Point and shoot and print. Although we are 12.imp today this camera still has some clout when it comes to image stability. All colours are vibrant and will still out perform other cameras of similar MP and age. 4GB memory cards give up to 49 hours of recording on the lowest quality (worse than a phone camera of the early 2000s but still usable) and on VGA quality shots over 10,000 shots on a 4GB card.
Pros: Small, compact, well balanced if a tad heavy, has marine pack (option), high quality LCD, multi burst and red eye flash, macro is down to 1 inch and battery life is over 100 minutes shot dependent.
Cons: Suffer CCD breakdown because of ceramic sealant later used epoxy, lens covers sticks, power socket is fiddly and prone to breaking is mistreated, auto focus sometimes had to set and quick view is temperamental sometimes showing and other time not.
Summary: Wow a great little performer which is as robust as it is compact. The feel of it in the palm has a confident build quality almost tank like, fire off hundreds of shots a day with the auto setting and still have enough battery left to have a laugh at what a day you have had. Let's not away from the fact that the CCD or charged coupled device (the image sensor to you and I) has in the past used a ceramic sealant which does not flex with heat and Sony was not the only company to suffer as JVC, Kodak and others suffered with damage to humidity to the CCD because of the sealant issue. overall 4.6 out of 5 simply because the CCD and cost....I has never been cheap but the marine pack (yep I have that too) means can go diving to 40m and still snap happy.
