Good as new
1 of 1 found this helpful After contending with a broken deli drawer slide/track for the last few years with Sears repairman telling me it was a discontinued part and they couldn't get it, I thought we were stuck with what we had. When a piece of the split rail actually fell off, we took the shelf out cemented it back together. Low and behold there is a part number molded into the tracks which we jotted down. Since the repair failed rather quickly, we researched a bit and found the replacement number online and ordered two since the other slide had a crack in it and was only a matter of time before it completely broke. The first one installed without a hitch, but wouldn't you know the other side just didn't want to seat into place. With a little persistence, we won! Now we're back in business and good as new.

Bigger is not always better...
Bigger is not always better in the case of this apple corer. Let me explain. We usually buy the biggest most beautiful apples at the market. Unfortunately, this corer has a 3-1/2" diameter which doesn't take care of the very large or the less than symmetrical specimens.
Keeping this in mind, the last apples purchased were of a more average size and the corer works very well on them with the exception of the skin at the very bottom of the cut. The blades on the corer don't meet the cutting board so we're forced into pulling the sections through the blade for the final cut/tear.
We really, really like the 16 sections made using this and the ease of clean-up. A quick rinse, making sure there's no debris, and in the drainer to air dry. We do recommend this corer and hope there are tweaks to the design to make it even better.
