Images sharp in the center and fairly poor in the corners and on the edges.
4 of 8 found this helpful I shot the lens at 18mm f8 ISO 100 on my a6000 and the center of the image is very sharp at 100%. The corners are fairly poor and the edges are not much better. I compared shooting the same image with my PZ16-50 and the corners are slightly better on the 16-50. I guess that's to be expected on a $500 kit lens with this kind of focal range. I guess I'm kind of disappointed in the lens. I bought it for the range and stabilization.

Images a little soft
My lens was quite soft at f6.3 and much better stopped down to f8.
