Good audio, durable, low priced radio but lacking narrowband.
This radio appears to be an older model as it does not have narrowband capability. RX and TX audio are good and TX is within FCC specs, unlike some ham radios. Battery life is good, but the radio is mostly used for RX only. I do like the size. This is a large radio by modern standards so it is easy to operate and has a large speaker. I have managed to knock mine onto the concrete floor in my home and workshop several times and it takes it OK, no damage.The only real issue specific to this radio is the DTMF sidetone is very loud. The batttery charger that came with mine takes 15 hours and warns to not leave the battery on it any longer. The radio cannot sit in its charger in a trickle mode waiting for use. Other complaints are my standard for ham type radios, poor priority scan and no split tone CTCSS encode/decode.
Radio is easily programmed on the computer and the programming cable is easily constructed. No need to buy the cable, and it fits many other Icom portables, including commercial models. Front panel programming is easier than many, but still not as easy as some of the older radios.
I would say this would be a great radio for a new ham or as a extra rig for use during work or other activities since it seems durable and the price is low in case of fatal damage.

Good quality andustable spanner
Fit and finish seems better than other current makes.

Good so far!
Tires arrived quickly and in good condition. Mounted and balanced very easily and run smooth and quiet. I don t drive much so they will probably age out before they wear out.
