Shelf looks good and works well.
Shelf looks good. The magnets are strong so it doesn't move and it is very handy to use as intended.

An excellent inexpensive cleaner.
Washing soda is a great cleaner and spot remover and is stronger than baking soda. It is the main ingredient in a lot of expensive "oxy" cleaners. It is nonfoaming. It is a very good degreaser but don't soak aluminum in or it may pit. Wear rubber gloves or it will dry out (degrease) your skin.

NAD PP3i Preamp & ADC USB great for converting your analog to digital
1 of 2 found this helpful I bought this to convert a bunch of vinyl & cassette tapes I have that are not available in digital format that I would like to listen to but, have become spoiled by digital audio convenience. Additionally, I wanted a device independent of an integrated amp receiver or expensive sound card for the job to save space and hassle that is easily transportable from room to room. I have never been able to afford to be a true audiophile but scour thrift stores and eBay for affordable equipment upgrades regularly with some success. The PP3i is a phono/line level preamp that also digitizes stereo (or mono) analog signals and passes them via USB to a computer. It can also be used as a regular phono preamp with a line level output if desired. It has both moving magnet and moving coil cartridge capability.
The hardware worked very well for me with no problems on Win XP Pro. I simply plugged it in and it installed, no additional driver required like most USB sound cards.
All my recording is done in *.wav uncompressed format. (Storage is cheap). I have a Denon DP-15F turntable with a Signet TK1ea cartridge I bought new around 1984/5 & a Nakamichi 482 cassette deck purchased used.
The PP3i's fidelity seems as good as 16bit 44kHz CD quality should be. I am impressed with the uncolored tonal quality and clarity of recordings both from moving magnet phono and line in sources. I don't have a moving coil cartridge so I cannot comment on that input. Noise levels are very low as best I can tell. I checked those by recording with the tape deck connected but stopped and compared it with the deck running then looking using the display of Nero Wave Editor and the deck was much noisier than the PP3i though certainly still very quiet.
That brings me to software. The VinylStudio™ Lite PC Software that comes with the PP3i has the noise reduction or click & pop remover disabled that is needed for cleaning up the surface noise of recordings of vinyl unless you want to retain those for old time's sake. It will however record the signal and you can split it into tracks if that is what you want. To get noise reduction/clip&pop removal functions you must pay extra to buy the full version of VinylStudio. As an alternative, Audacity or Goldwave freeware will work fine and actually has those functions or for those who have Nero full version or some OEM versions burner software you can use Nero Wave Editor which has noise reduction and a click & pop remover. Because I have both of those programs, I did not buy VinylStudio full version so I will not comment on it.
Conclusion:
Even though I hate the "Oh you need the extra cost full version to do noise reduction" software part, the hardware works so well I could not bring myself to knock my rating down to good from excellent. Unless you want to listen to one big long audio track expect to spend some editor time breaking your file into tracks and labeling them so add 1/2 hour to every record you digitize for that chore. But if you choose to do that the PP3i at its price point is an excellent device for digitizing that does not require an integrated amp, receiver or additional sound card to do so but allows you that flexibility if you so choose.
