    The Straight and Narrow
I love German cars, specifically Porsche and Mercedes. The drawback to this passion is that I am not wealthy and cannot afford a mechanic shop that specializes in European cars as they usually charge north of $100.00 an hour for labor and then the mark up for parts. I understand the economy and cost of running a business as I own and operate a son and father Automotive restoration shop. The great thing about that is that I have the mechanical aptitude to fix my own cars therefore feeding my passion of German cars and then companies like this one on Ebay buys parts in large quantities and passes that value on to me the consumer. My local dealership wanted $247.99 for one lower rear control arm. I purchased the complete 10pc front end rebuild kit for $138.64. Every piece bolted right in without a problem and now my Mercedes wagon no longer wanders around going its own way regardless of how I steered it and shaken not stirred is no longer a daily white knuckle experience. With these quality parts,I am able to set the cruise control, turn up the radio and enjoy my drive home. Thank You

    Miracle in a Box
I recently purchased a 1986 BMW 635csi aka The Shark. I have been wanting one of these BMWs for years but every one that I looked at here in Illinois had horrible rust and rot. This example had been purchased in Texas and was brought up to Illinois in 2002 as a non working project car. That owner quickly tired of paying shops to attempt to fix this Big Coupe and he sold it to another guy that thought he needed a project. That owner took it to several shops and yet nobody seemed to be able to make this BMW cruise once again. after a few tow bills and shop bills that owner sold it to another. This time it was a young hipster with great ambition. He plunged right in and swapped out parts like they were on sale a great discount. Tragedy struck when he lost his job and had to move to the big city. I received a phone call with an offer too good to resist so I went and retrieved this gem. Now the 1986 BMW is a Motronic 1.0 ecu equipped vehicle with no onboard diagnostic so one has to slowly go over each and every component and test to see if they are operating correctly. I discovered that this one had several ailments and i swapped those out for new parts. Now she is up and running but had and an intermittent issue, it would simply shutoff without warning. I decided to change the ecu. I purchased 3 of them from a local auto parts store and none of them worked. so much for remanufactured computers. I decided to take a gamble on an ebay used ecu(DME) and purchased it from Patrick. Patrick was quick to contact me and get the ecu sent out. As soon as I received it, I ran outside like a kid at Christmas getting all the toys that he so wanted. I plugged the ecu in and instantly, the Shark was a live and vibrant. her rpms revved freely, her exhaust note was a quick bark. I closed shop and drove that BMW for over 5 hours non stop. Thanks to Ebay and an honest seller, my dream of late summer cruising thru the countryside has come true. Total Automotive bliss
