They don't call it "Boss" for nothing!
This has to be the most fantastic piece of musical equipment that I have ever purchased in my entire career as a bassist (aside from my bass anyway...). I've been playing for a little over 3 years and I was looking for an upgrade from the DigiTech BP80. The GT-6B fit the bill perfectly. With 120 patches, a compressor, chorus, reverb/delay, distortion, bass synth, etc. the pedal has an enormous range of possible tones and I've never been at a loss for a unique tone while practicing and gigging with my band. This pedal has EVERYTHING! (I mean it). If you're using anything less, do yourself a favor and get a GT-6B. I've used it in everything from rock concerts to worship at my church, and it works perfectly in every setting. ROCK ON!

Excellent versatile telephoto lens that produces fantastic bokeh at all focal lengths. Definitely the largest 70-200mm I've used, but quality overall is fantastic.

Excellent Tone, Stylish Body, Terrible Quality Control
This bass has a great aesthetic and amazing tone. The vintage push-pull switch gives you a lot of tonal options in terms of using pedals, or getting that "Geddy Lee/Chris Squire tone". Seriously, this is one of the first passive basses I've played where the tone control can actually give you significantly different sounds depending on how you use the knobs.
The mute in the bridge is also a nice touch, and you can get a rather convincing hollow body bass tone by using the mute and pulling the vintage tone control.
That said...
I have ordered this bass (on listings marked as "excellent/mint condition" twice times and sent it back twice. Rickenbacker does not seem to know how to use painter's tape, as the paint lines around the binding on the body and neck were absolutely awful compared to basses I've owned that cost a quarter as much. I have also had trouble with the bridge saddles, which were incorrectly fitted to the bridge and caused a significant amount of string buzz that made the bass completely unplayable.
I ordered a 1995 4003 in Mapleglo and I have higher hopes for that as there's only a clear coat on the instrument and quality control seems to have been better historically.
I'd be hesitant to purchase this bass if you haven't picked it up, held it in your hand, and inspected it yourself.
