truly plug it in and forget it ease of use
5 of 5 found this helpful I have 25 years of experience with radar detectors. In general all Beltronics (escort) detectors work very well. I just retired an STi unit after seven years of flawless service and got a new 9500IX for the GPS and false alarm blocking capabilities. After driving my usual route for a couple of days I became aware I hadn't heard a peep out of my detector for a while. I was wondering if it had malfunctioned when I got out on the highway and there it was, a slow beep then nothing. a few moments later a more insistent series of beeps. Finely about 1.5 miles after first alert I found the trooper popping selected targets. Range is great and without the false alerts my old detector picked up I am able to pay attention to the real threats. I love this detector.

Quality control issues. some work and some don't.
The top locks on when shut as long as the batteries fit all the way in. The problem is that some of the holders seem to be too narrow in the middle holes to allow the batteries to drop down far enough to close the lid. If you push the batteries down they stick and are hard to remove.

A very good entry level night scope.
1 of 1 found this helpful Easy to mount and sight in. If you are on a budget but would like to try IR hunting I would suggest looking into this scope. The included IR light source could be a little brighter out over 80 yards but works well enough to see small nuisance critters on moonless nights.
