Avoiding more officious titles, I'm really a data wrangler and digital plumber. Since my early teens in the 80's I've been passionate about computers and storage. I love rebuilding old drive arrays and working with file share technologies, especially NFSv3. Sometimes I end up with something to sell, but much more often I'm the one buying!
Sony STR-DH790 7.2-Ch Ultra HD A/V Home Theater Receiver

STR-DH790, The Is The Way
I already owned the smaller 590 version of this amplifier. Integrating my Sony PS5, Sony UHD Player and Sony OLED TV using this Sony receiver simply made sense. Once I included optical fiber HDMI lines to my TV through the pipe in the wall, the home theater was perfect. This receiver integrated perfectly, including with the only not-Sony product, my Apple TV. Very happy now watching Mandalorian.

Worked Immediately
With used HBA devices there's always a chance it won't work for needing to be firmware flashed but in this case, the HBA was immediately recognized by Solaris 10 in my Sunblade 1500 Red and appears to be ready to go as soon as the 2TB SAS drives (only $30 each!) arrive.
Apple AirPort Extreme 1331 Mbps 3-Port Gigabit Wireless AC Router (ME918LL/A)

Always trustworthy and reliable
The Apple Airport Extreme is the best WiFi router available on the market if you don't need VLAN's. It's a simple plug-n-play device. Connect the WAN port to your ISP's DSL or Cable Modem and hit the reset button the back, turn on the Airport Utility on your Mac (you did get a Mac, too right?) and it's right there, ready to be configured. In about three steps it's ready to go. Connect any wired devices to the three LAN ports and maybe a USB hard drive to the USB port and you have a full on LAN device delivering NAS services to your Mac for Time Capsule and file sharing. I've never set up an easier in-house network.
