Beginner's Kit Only
It's a good basic kit for a beginner for an inexpensive price. However, if you are an experienced seamstress, you will want a quality pair of sewing scissors. The scissors in the kit are similar to a pair of kitchen scissors you would use to cut wax paper and string etc. A quality pair of sewing scissors that is sharper is needed for cutting fabric if you are planning on doing a lot of sewing, quilting, etc.
The metal sewing gage is of good quality and should hold up a long time. The tape measurer is just fine. For the price, it is an acceptable basic kit. It could double as a travel kit if it had some snaps, hooks and eyes and a variety of buttons. Oh well. You can't have it all for this modest price!

Quality Sewing Basket
Quality materials were used to make this well-made and sturdy sewing basket. The designer handle is attached firmly and the magnetic closure is well made and attached firmly as well. Inside is quality lining and a convenient plastic tray. I like the construction and convenience of the two pouches inside that can carry various items such as rickrack, bias tape, packages of needles etc. that you wouldn't want to put in the plastic tray.
Some sewing baskets come with an attached pin cushion to the inside of the box which is a disadvantage in my opinion as the built-in pin cushion takes up valuable space in the box. And, anyway, I like to keep my pin cushion on my sewing table where I am working and near my sewing machine where it is convenient.
