Easy to set-up and does the job, but expect more for the price
1 of 1 found this helpful Overall I think this is a well built product and set-up was a snap. I also think the Linksys mobile application is simple to use and intuitive (for advanced users might be too simplistic). It is nice have multiple LAN ports on the nodes and I haven't noticed any issues resulting from my current configuration. That said, I have three issues that keep me from giving it 5-Stars. First, the price is ridiculous (especially if you need to buy more than one). Second, the coverage distance between the nodes is "okay", but not impressive. I have two MX5300 connected to an MR9600 and had to move the nodes fairly close to get strong signal. To be fair, Linksys does recommend the nodes be about two rooms apart with as few obstructions between them as possible (i.e., walls, concrete, etc). Lastly, the configurable options are limited. For advanced users wanting more control, you are not getting it with Linksys. The web-based interface offers most options that the average user needs, but not as many as comparable products.

Good Value...Good Sound for small to mid-sized rooms
I have a 7.1 configuration with 6 Polk TL3 speakers, Polk Center and Polk Sub (crossover 110 Hz). At first, I was concerned about the infamous "empty bass hole" that is normally found with satellite-class speakers and the sub. After putting these speakers through rigorous testing, happy to report no issues and happy with the overall sound picture. The highs sound true and no detectable gap with the lows. For true audiophiles, satellites are a hard sell. However, for those that don't demand the absolute best sound (or can afford $3,000-4,000 price tag for such a set-up) these speakers are a very, nice alternative. If you read various reviews on the TL3 speaker they all confirm quality in manufacturing and a surprisingly good sound. The speaker cones and materials used in the TL3 speaker are also found in Polk's higher-end, floor speakers. Having had both large and expensive systems and smaller satellite configurations (like this one), I couldn't be happier. Hats-off to Polk for delivering satellite speakers that are worth listening to and turn the heads of the more discriminate, audiophiles. As long as you position these speakers correctly and pair with a good receiver, you will have many years of enjoyment. Happy listening!
