Great speaker, but not “rugged”.
It sounds really great. It was a bit of a challenge to connect even when following instructions.
It’s also constructed similar to an indoor speaker, such that taking it outside makes me feel really cautious about dropping it, tipping it over, something getting thrown at it, etc and the thing getting scratched and dinged. Perhaps it would still work just fine, and I know water isn’t a concern, I’m just saying I wouldn’t called it “rugged”.

Does the Trick
PROS:
-Binds your gear to your MOLLE nice and snug, especially if you weave it right.
-Has proven strong and durable in 2 1/2 years of moderate use on a police tac vest.
CONS:
-The tab at the bottom is large. However, I have not found it to interfere in any way.
-Would it be nice if it was cheaper? Sure. But face it: they came up with a useful product. So just like I did, you can go ahead and stomach paying good money for something that reliably keeps spare ammo and a med pouch where they're supposed to be.
