A great step up from a 'basic' camera

Our existing compact camera was reaching the end of its life, and we were fed up with its poor quality, especially in low-lighting conditions. I bought the FinePix wanting a substantially better model that would cope with a variety of conditions. We were very pleased with our purchase. The 18x optical zoom made telescopic shots very easy, and is without doubt the most appealing function. We also like the Panorama option, which automatically 'stitches' together 2 or 3 shots as you pan the camera. There is a wide range of scene selections, or the option for full manual adjustment of the settings. We like this flexibility. The card slot will also take SDHC as well as SD cards. The most disappointing feature is the built-in microphone, which produces a background 'hiss' over movies, whichever quality level is selected. Although the movie picture quality is great (includes HD movie), the microphone lets the audio side down badly, making it not the best camera for home filming. Overall, though, we were satisfied with our purchase, and would probably buy a similar product again, providing the microphone issue could be improved.

Good, reliable product.

This has proved to be a reliable work-horse of a memory card for our daughter's Canon Legria digital film camera. It will process 3+ hours of video recording time, which is ample for ours and her needs. Regarding bad points, I can't think of any relating to this product. Does exactly what we wanted it to.
