Restoration of an Antique 1870 French Velocipede
The handles were used to replace the missing handles on an 1870 French Velocipede ( A child's horse tricycle). They were made by Jean Louis Gourdoux for Jugnet.. The shape was exactly like the crank handles on the original. ( I had one original to compare with). The wood accepted the stain perfectly and with the finish matched the carved walnut body of the horse. The pre-drilled hole permitted the insertion of the shingle screw with even the correct alignment, size and depth. Even the metal shield around the end was perfect.
The numerous sizes offered permitted me to purchase the correct size needed.

Difficult to open and close, Fails to ignite. Difficult to push down on starter,,
Have it so it works, Have an old one similar (black and same maker) It will light, the yellow one just jams and will ignite. only after a lot of effort and time, I can switch the fuel into my old one and instant results, The flame when it does light is poor, Only one is great, Trying to figure out why I even considered getting a new one,
