End result good , getting there problematic
1 of 3 found this helpful OK so I bought this refurbished item cheaply from the "daily deals" primarily to check whether it would accept and run Windows 10 successfully before risking updating two other Linx tablets laden with personal settings. Previous refurbished items have always worked well.
However, problems were immediately apparent, the packaging said MS Office not included but the banner in Ebay had said Office 365 ( though previous experience with Linx would mean it would need to be activated). The Windows 8.1 installation was lacking many updates , about 240 , including those which Windows 10 checks for the presence of before downloading. A registry check also highlighted 63 items which needed fixing.
Faced with a low battery during the correction of these issues, the biggest issue became apparent. If you use the tablet while charging the tablet around the charger gets super hot. This does not happen with any of the other Linx tablets leading me to believe that this was why this particular tablet was returned for refurbishment.
So the issues were resolved , the registry was corrected, the updates were run and the unit identified as needing to be charged during downtime. I was left with the opinion that the refurbishment was rushed or bodged which detracted from the purchase however much I saved versus purchasing a new one.
Otherwise the experiment was a success, Windows 10 successfully loaded and despite Microsofts indications of a higher minimum spec requirement than the Linx possesses it runs just as well as Windows 8.1. Open Office, a free download from Apache, has been substituted for Microsoft Office .
My overall opinion about Linx products is unchanged, they are excellent value for money, do what they say and are fairly robust.

As good as ever
Have used this type of battery for years. A three pack of Eveready brand seems to last longer than others.

Minimal instructions, but simple set up
Instructions could be more detailed, but as the product should be plug and play that's not really a problem. However, make sure you are using the very latest update of the Google Home app.
