An Amazing Product
I've had my eye on this header for more than a year. Two months ago I decided the time has come. Header design and construction has come a long way since the '70s, the last time I bought a set of headers.
The tubes are made of heavy gauge metal, much heavier than headers of 40 years ago. The flanges are 3/8" thick as opposed to the 1/8" flanges of the older headers. It came wrapped in several roles of bubble wrap in a heavy cardboard box.
Installation was straight forward and simple. It fit perfectly. The only problem I encountered was my own fault: I ordered the wrong gasket for the down pipe, so I had to use the old one. It resulted in an exhaust leak until I could get the right one and find the time to change it.
I expected an increase in performance, but I didn't expect what I got. The performance increase is across the rpm range. When I let the clutch out on my initial road test, the truck lunged forward as if it couldn't wait to take off. Granted, it's not V-8 performance, but it's a performance increase nevertheless.
The place that I can tell the biggest increase in performance is on freeway on-ramps. It's kind of hard to explain...the throttle response and increase in speed is much smoother than before; throttle effort is less, resulting in better gas mileage.
I've checked mileage for the last four weeks. Each week, somehow, it gets a little better. It's now at 22.9 mpg. and I drive mostly around town. I'm really surprised at the mileage improvement because I find it difficult to keep my foot out of it.
Am I glad I bought this Doug Thorley header? You bet. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. I think $300.00 is a small sacrifice for the benefit derived. I'm 62 years old now. I've considered myself a hot rodder for most of my life even though I've not always owned or driven one. One co-woeker said that I'm reliving my youth. Maybe so.

Quality Product
This hose arrived intact and ready to install. It's made of quality rubber hoses and metal lines. It went in without any problems. It was identical to the original Toyota hose in every way. A great hose for a good price.

I never write reviews. But this time I had to.
0 of 1 found this helpful What a boring movie! A gross waste of time! I turned it off a few minutes before it ended. Then I took it out of the DVD player, put it back in its case, and threw it in the trash. That's just how good it was!
