Practical use of this product

Product works okay. I like the on/off buttons for the 2x cigarette lighter charging points and the lights around them. The display is too dim during the day to see the voltage and temperature easy but that is a pro at night not being too bright. The mounting double side 'cushion' tape let go after a day. Put some industrial Velcro (rated 4.5 kg per strip) cut to size instead and it hangs like a rock now on the side of my console. Overall product is worth while if you want to create more charging options from the one cigarette lighter with some extra functionality.

Good harness but NOT plug and play.

Good for VW group after market head units if there is no need to communicate with the CAN motor/car management logic (read 'no steering wheel controls'). Still need the red wire to be connected to an ignition (key switched group). Connected my red wire in the VW T5 to the cigarette lighter group 12 piggy back fuse through a 20amp solid state relais switched by a piggy back fuse from group 19. If your unit can be controlled by an external dimmer the orange wire can be connected with group fuse 35 (VW-T5_instrument display light) but is not nessesary most head units also have a clock controlled dimmer function these days and no external dimmer control.

This boy made the cut

I can highly recommend this product. It cut through all the wood I had to tackle with a breeze and it is not hard to follow a straight line as well. Recently I used it to modify our dog house and I am very happy with the results. Besides cutting branches and trees during 4WD trips (it is stored under my drivers seat) and the cutting back of branches in the garden, it can also be used to do some carpenter jobs as well. Very happy with the purchase :) Just be aware... it is razor sharp, use proper gloves !
