Metal yes, plastic no.

The staples holding the spring rod and the trip wire pulled out. I had to replace them with wire to continue to use it. Also the plastic trigger broke after about a half dozen uses. I was able to find some traps with the old fashion metal triggers and they work great. Stay away from the ones with the plastic triggers.
