Whistler DE-1788 Radar Detector
2 of 2 found this helpful I have had one of these before and this is why I purchased another one. The range that this detector picked up the signal was amazing.
Example: I was following a trans am that was going 15mph under the speed limit on a winding road, I tried to pass him at one section of the road and when I tried he sped up to prevent me from passing. He then slowed down to 20mph under the speed limit. Further down the road there was another section that I was going to pass him, about 200 ft from a bridge the detector gave a warning signal that had never happened before. When I got to the straight section I accelerated and tried to go around him, and at the same time I pulled around him the detector went to full alert and the idiot floored it and pulled away from me like he was in a race. I slowed down to the speed limit and started laughing, he got to the end of the road and the State Police officer pulled him over. I honked the horn as I very slowly passed him. This Radar Detector saved my butt again. BUY ONE OF THESE!!!!! Dennis
