A treasure to cherish
Why is this a 5-star product? Because it is Rocky and Bullwinkle, of course! Totally brilliant. This set will bring back all of your great childhood memories watching the show, but it is just as entertaining, if not moreso, for adults.

Madame Alexander Price Guide by Linda Crowsey (2009)
1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased Madame Alexander Collector's Dolls Price Guide #34 because I was in dire need of an updated version.
This 2009 edition is glossy and a larger size than many previous guides, making it easier to read. The softcover book is beautifully done, includes historical information on the Alexander Doll Company and gorgeous full color photographs. In addition, dolls pictured are identified on the same page where their corresponding prices are listed.
Not only does the 2009 guide encompass all modern Alexander dolls created up to the date of publication, but it also features many rare and early vintage versions that were not referenced in previous price guides.
Author Linda Crowsey's section entitled "What is a Price Guide?" provides honest commentary and informs collectors that this book, "while not the final word, is a starting point to determine the value of a doll." It is particularly helpful when estimating insurance values in the event of damage or loss. To assist the reader further, Ms. Crowsey also defines the difference between a perfect, exceptional, and less than perfect doll.
There are only minor changes I would suggest for future editions. I believe a Table of Contents would provide more ease and convenience for the reader. I would also like to see face molds for the 21" and 16" Sleeping Beauty of 1959 pictured in the section "The Many Faces of Madame Alexander Dolls".
Nevertheless, in my opinion, this is the finest price guide ever published on Madame Alexander dolls and I highly recommend it to all devoted Alexander doll collectors. Because this is a book that will be referenced again and again, Linda Crowsey's masterpiece has earned an honored place in personal libraries everywhere.
