ENGINE GUARD CRASH BARS HEED BMW R 1200 R (2007 - 2014) 1200R - Basic, silver

Good quality, value and easy to fit.

For a non technical item I thought this was well made, at least up to BMW standards. S.Steel bolts and washers. The crash bar fitting was straightforward with no problems and took about 1+1/2 hours of knee work! However if I have to remove them for servicing it would take less than half that time now I know the routine. The instructions were good and clear. The kit was delivered by Parcel Force and arrived from Poland in about a week. Everything was well packaged. There are four large bolts with spacers. These are assembled and cling film wrapped and are all different sizes. Don't undo them all at once and mix them up. I didn't but someone will. The instructions are clear. You will need a good set of metric allen keys or better, socket driven inserts. I am pleased I got the silver colour bars as now they are on the bike, R1200R, they suit the engine colours best. IMHO Very pleased.

Fitting

Bolts would not fit my bike. Kawasaki Versys 650 2015. I did buy the suggested 'correct' part so I had to change the bolts for a smaller size myself.

Useful tool in a cleaning routine.

It assisted in the initial hose down of built up road dirt and mud. The machine did not dry out to be sparkling clean. A dirt film was still visible.
