Good design but exaggerated strut pressure

This product definitely solves having to prop up your JKU hood. How ever you do need a rather large size drill bit (17/32) and a threaded insert install tool to make all this work. Picked up the tool at harbor freigh and will most likely never us it again ever. All good up until here. The problem is the struts have such high pressure that it deforms the hood sheet metal and flexes the hood hinge thus creating a larger gap between the hood and wiper blade body panel. You really have to hold the hood when you open it or it will shoot up. I’m going to order a couple of 35 pound struts instead of these 67 pound struts this kit comes with.
