Polaris 380 In Ground Pressure Side Pool Cleaner Factory Rebuild Kit 9-100-9030
Oct 17, 2016
No brainer...
Had my pool refinished and figured I would get a new pool sweep to replace my 7 year old 380 that was tired and not working very well. Happened upon this Factory Rebuild kit... $200 versus $600 for a new 380 is a no-brainer.
I'm pretty mechanically inclined and the disassembly and reassembly was fairly straightforward. The instructions are minimal, so I took lots of pictures showing how the various parts were assembled, and that really helped me out.
This is one of those jobs that if you did it twice, you could breeze through it in 30-45 minutes, but for first timers it takes at least double that - take your time and you will be okay. This kit replaced 80% of the components in your pool sweep and makes it run and look like new - great value.
Chemical Guys SPI10816 - Heavy Duty Water Spot Remover (16 oz)

Disappointed - Expensive and Did not work for my situation.
Not Magic - and the product description over-promises. I like Chemical Guys products, and have had a great experience with them. That's why I took a chance on this Heavy Duty Spot Remover.
My cars is an Audi S5 and the hood (only) had a bunch of small water spots that are especially visible in certain types of light, such as LED fluorescent in my garage. Tried Clay Bar, tried Compound, tried diluted acidic wheel cleaner (which I think is the same as this Chemical Guys product ).
Obviously, I have spots that are at the really difficult side to remove, and this product maybe removed 20% of them. That's OK I get it, I have tough spots - what irks me is the product description provided which is extremely mis-leading and provides no clue that this product might not work on some spots. The price $$$ is steep too - feel a tad ripped honestly.
If you have fairly recent water spots this stuff (and other less expensive products) will work.
Apparently you should replace your pool sweep hose every 3 years or so as the hose itself gets hard, the swivels wear out, and the floats can become waterlogged.
I hadn't for 5 years and my pool sweep was acting weird, noticed that the hose was very stiff, so tried one of these out. Genuine Polaris part, very flexible compared with the 5 year old hose being replaced, installation was a breeze.
Only downside to this part is the price - this was the leaset expensive OEM part I could find on Ebay, and its still a bit expensive in my mind.
