think flypaper
First introduced to this product working with a land surveyor along the Maryland shore. It was late may or early June and the deer flies were relentless. He pulled out a couple and we stuck them to our caps. Within the hour we each sported a patch with more than ten of the buggers who would have landed on our necks instead.
The patch is merely a piece of duck tape treated with fly paper glue on one side. You pull off the cover on the side with the duck tape surface (it will stick to hats, clothes etc. but comes off easily with no mess). Then you pull off the outside exposing a VERY sticky tan surface about 6X3 inches.
It serves as a perfect landing spot for the flies but has no chemicals that I can discern. Great for mowing the grass and gardening or even golf.
A Warning however, this doesn't have a happy relationship with hair. Granddaughters with long hair on a windy day found their hair blowing up and sticking hard to the patch, Many ouches trying to separate hair from patch.
