Worked great in my Thinkpad R400, no iss...
Worked great in my Thinkpad R400, no issues at all. Slid old one out that was randomly ejecting, inserted new one from Prime Electronics. Auto detected, playing & burning media with no issues. Respectable S&H rate for such an item. Thank you!

Worked great - inserted into the express...
Worked great - inserted into the express card slot of my ThinkPad W500 running Win10, which was autodetected as a Ricoh 1394 OHCI compliant host controller (which the drivers worked fine). Connected an external Firewire 800 drive, seamless access - ran the SMART and physical full media scan on the external drive. Which was the whole reason I purchased this controller - get access to and test the external Firewire drives I have collected over the years with the faster throughput.
