Incredible features and control, plus point-and-shoot ease - love it!
Easy to use is a bad question to answer for this camera. This is a highly sophisticated camera, pro-sumer kinda device. It has a 'plethora' of user selectable options that will take months of average use to understand, much less master. But, it has spectacular 'point and shoot' intelligence - which makes it a fun camera to just take along. If you want to go animal on settings, it can fulfill most every wish, but if you want to take the best snaps at the 'party' and hand it off to friends to point and click - boom, you get that too. I am a believer that there is no substitute for a fast lens - f1.8 here. And having used it just a bit so far, I am confirmed again in my want. Maybe you can zoom in more with a lot of (and even the latest RX100 V and Canon), but they all give you horribly slow lens performance - f3.X - and you can't fake real depth of field control with slow glass (well, I guess Apple tries as a post process thing...). I would rather have a great image I can crop and zoom than a poor version zoomed in. So far it exceeds my expectations, and it passes my 'smile' test: If I see that the designers built a feature that is really cool and makes me smile - that is great - and the RX/III does all and more!
