Parallel Programming in Openmp

An excellent OpenMP learning tool for the beginner using Fortran77.

The book is well written and easy to understand. The book is good for someone just learning OpemMP. It does not cover every aspect of OpenMP or have lots of examples but the book discusses the most important OpenMP directives and explains them very well and in sufficient detail that someone without prior experience in Open MP will understand. It has many good examples of OpenMP code that are not too complicated to understand. It explains the concept of parallel programming very well. It is a good book for the beginner and I would recommend it. The examples of OpenMP code are all written in Fortran77 but the code is also the same as Fortran90 and 95 should compile with little or no change using a Fortran77,90 or 95 OpenMP compiler.
