My first DCC system
This model has taken a bad rap with online reviews. There are a couple of things that frustrate me about it but overall it does work pretty good. Just like a wireless mouse, most problems are tied to a low battery but you don't realize that at the time you need it to work right. They should have made a charging station for the remote instead of regular batteries. You really do need a fully-charged remote everytime you use it.

Smoke had smell of melting plastic
Things that get really hot should not be made out of plastic. When it did work there was a smell of burning plastic along with the normal smoke smell. After a few days it would not even work at all.
