Did the job, easy to use
1 of 1 found this helpful We purchased this adhesive to use on our hay barn roof. It's a low slope roof with a ponding problem where it meets another building so we installed an EPDM membrane with this adhesive. We installed it over new plywood sheathing. We'll have to update with the long term performance but as far as installation goes we are very pleased.
We are not professionals and so dealing with a 25x 30' roof was a D.Y.I adventure. When shopping for adhesives we had a hard time finding anything available locally and what we did find was no kidding - four times the price of Lottes.
Being water based this adhesive is easy to use and clean up. It's a lot like working with latex paint. It's fairly forgiving but you still need to do your homework and study up on how its done if you are a do it yourselfer. Follow the directions - the biggest issue is determining how long to let it tack off before you roll it but it worked fine with no bleed through or problems.
This adhesive did not hold the membrane super tight to the plywood sheathing - it is possible to peel it off and so we rolled and battened down the edges of the roof to give some wind protection. I don't think the adhesive alone could stand up to a strong wind, it needed reinforcement on the edges.
We applied it and let it dry 24 hours before walking on the roof for finish work and it held great. We are completely satisfied so far and would recommend it to others. Whether the roof stands the test of time remains to be seen but so far we're feeling very confident in the results.
Thank you, Lottes for the free shipping as well!

First edition of a classic study of the Sheltie-Great Author!
This is a classic book written by an outstanding author. It gives a very good history and overview of the Shetland Sheepdog and is a great reference for anyone wanting to know more about the breed.
Even though the book is old, there is much to learn from it that holds true regardless of the time such as breed history, early bloodlines in North America, Sheltie character, the breed standard etc.
I do want to point out that this is the first edition from 1974. There is a second edition from 1992 that I would recommend over this one just because it has much of the same information and expands on what is here in the first edition.
So - yes, this is a great book and does have value especially for people who are really studying history of the breed - this first edition has information on some older dogs that make it worth having in addition to the second book. But if you are only going to buy one edition I recommend the newer one.

This series is just no fun anymore
What can I say? I went into this series with SO much hope! The first books were fun, quirky, and unpredictable. The characters very endearing as readers already know if they are familiar with this series.
Lately though it has taken too much of a turn into soap opera territory for my taste. Some readers may find that appealing but it seems that with each book, the mystery is gone having been replaced with the dark and festering drama of the villagers.
I'd rather see the author turn out books at half the rate and keep the integrity of the series but it seems to be dying a torturous death of boredom. This series deserved better, I'm sad to see it go but it's not looking likely that I'll read any more of them.
