Portability and functionality!
With the horizontal front and rear bars attached, the overall height of the vehicle with the rack was just a little too tall to get into most garages. However, the set screws that attach the horizontal bars to the vertical uprights can be loosened to remove the horizontal bars, thereby reducing the overall height so that my 2002 tundra could fit through the garage opening. Always check for adequate clearance before driving into or out of the garage though.
So, the good: great value for something that has tremendous utility and its overall height is easily
modified by removing the horizontal bar.

haven't used it yet but its construction looks sturdy enough for 5 full racks of ribs!
