Beautiful heartfelt orchestrations!
1 of 1 found this helpful I have been watching the PBS "Masterpiece" series from Britain called Poldark. The music from the show seems to fit the scenery of lush, tempestuous Cornwall, the time period (mid-1770's), and always the emotions of the characters. This CD is absolutely gorgeous! One does not need to have ever seen the TV show to appreciate Anne Dudley's mastery of sound, bringing out all the wonderful individual tones of each instrument! I love the use of the viola, sometimes a forgotten, middle-range string and the common use of an open 5th in her harmonies(for music experts)! If you desire relaxing, warm, and heart-tugging beauty, get this CD. Enjoy!

vanishing cream
2 of 2 found this helpful I have noticed that stores are not carrying my favorite Pond's Cold Cream-the cucumber cleanser. This bundle of three large jars is an amazing deal compared to what the smaller jars were selling for in my local store! The product is great..goes on smoothly and cleans really well! I would highly recommend this cucumber cleanser to anyone looking for a good make-up remover or skin softening face wash. I am so sorry to realize that this great Pond's favorite of mine is becoming a vanishing cream!!

A Great Picture of the 1960's
After attending a Three Dog Night concert, I was intrigued by some of the commentary of the lead singer. He mentioned the vibe and all-consuming aura and attitude of the Laurel Canyon community during the mid to late 1960's. I then found this book written by Los Angeles author who was always reporting on popular culture. This book is fascinating!!! If you are a music lover from the Beatles era and forward, I would highly recommend this book! It not only tells stories of the artists who lived and thrived (musically) in the canyon, the book also does a really good job of incorporating the social activities, the drug culture, the political unrest of the times. It was a very, very interesting book and quite and easy read. I felt the text gave a great picture of the 1960's.
