Great Collection! The Best of British Camp! Jolly well worth the price!!
This "Carry On" Collection, Volume 1 is a 4-Disc set that contains 8 movies that are filled with Bawdy, British Camp! There you have it-BBC! Filmed by RANK STUDIO, they all feature characters and character actors/actresses that you will come to know and love and appreciate as I have. And the way they play off of each other is hilarious. You sense that they appreciate each other's talents and are genuinely having fun "playing" together! Each film stars such veterans of British comedy as Sidney James, Kenneth Connor, Charles Hawtrey, Kenneth Williams, Joan Sims, Barbara Windsor, Frankie Howerd, and Julian Holloway. In fact, most of these performers have been featured regularly and continuously in this "Carry On" film series dating back to 1959's 'Carry On Sergeant'...I highly recommend this collection for a good sampling of British Comedy at it's Bawdy Best! Loaded with slapstick comedy, provocation and trademark innuendo- makes for a "Jolly Good Show"! I like everything about this 4-disc set and it has prompted me to look for additional "Carry On" films to add to my film library.
