A very Reliable Inverter
1 of 1 found this helpful I have two of these inverters for different types of uses. I use this model as a (UPC) for my wood fired boiler. If I lose power, the boiler will boil over in about one minute without the circulator pumps working. I have a large generator to run my house but it can take up to an hour to get it going depending in what my tractor was hooked to when the power failed.
With the 5000 W LF unit and a good size battery connected to the boiler supply circuit, I have at least three hours to get the big tractor mount generator hooked up. Once that is done, the unit recharges the battery very quickly and keeps it ready with a slow trickle charge rate.
I use a 3000 watt LF unit to operate a 120 volt boat lift motor over the water. It runs off a 12 volt battery that powers two lifts and is charged from shore with a small 12 volt battery maintainer. This keeps the high (and hazardous) voltage confined between the inverter and the motor without the circuit looking for a way to get to ground. Much safer than running household current out onto the dock.
