Eying Blind Date
3 of 3 found this helpful Most people think of the Bruce Willis and Kim Basinger comedy when they hear this the title "Blind Date."
This earlier, European film is anything but a comedy. It is a Sci-fi detective thriller, where a dangerous, psychotic serial killer is on the loose. The story is well-constructed, interesting, and certainly entertaining. Not the least of its assets is the underlying erotic touch, with some nude scenes done by stars that are elsewhere much more conservative. It was not the rare Kirstie Alley nudity that attracted me to the film. As a Star trek fan, I was much more interested in the unique topless scene with Marina Sirtis, a.k.a. Counselor Deanna Troi of Star Trek: TNG. Marina plays a young hooker who falls prey to the mysterious killer, after she is picked up on the street while plying her trade. She takes her customer to her place, where the killer, as usual, ties up his victim and begins his psychotic ritual, which results in carving up his victims, surgeon-style. Marina, unlike Kirstie, has a full-view, excellent topless scene in full lighting. This somewhat rare oops dvd would be much harder to obtain if more Star Trek fans knew of its existence. There are other such films out there, where main Star Trek actors and actresses are caught in such candid moments. I have films that Leonard Nimoy, William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Denise Crosby, and Gates McFadden probably all wish they could get recasted. I just smile and add them to my extensive Star trek collection! This is such a film.
