Belkin braided Apple charge cable.

My husband is on the road quite a bit with his job, so his cables get frayed. I finally decided to get him a tougher cable for his phone and his iPad. He likes the braided cord and the extra length. It fits nicely into his backpack and is easy to find because of the silver color. I decided to purchase a second cord for my car, and it does the job. The silver color matches my SUV's paint job, which I like. The cable charges my device, so I'm happy.

Kenmore Water Filters fit on a Whirlpool Refrigerator. Swap the O-rings

I bought this filter for a Whirlpool refrigerator. At first I thought I had the wrong filter because I could not get the filter to engage all the way. The O-rings on the top of the Kenmore filter are slightly larger than the original Every Drop filter O-rings. I swapped O-rings, and the filter fit like designed. The Kenmore filters cost a lot less; I paid about $12 each. That is a big savings compared to $50 at the hardware store.

Class Picnic Blouse and Shorts

I highly recommend this Oliver + S pattern. The blouse is a snap to sew because there are no buttons or zippers. I made it with two fabrics and added contrasting piping to the front yoke. I followed the directions exactly. I think I can turn this blouse into a breezy summer dress by adding a 4 inch ruffle to the bottom. I made the shorts when my granddaughter broke her leg. The leg opening is wide and accommodated the cast easily. I am impressed with the way the elastic is inserted in the waistline. It makes adjustments very simple. I used some scrap fabric that I had left over from another project. I considered adding piping to the waist, but I was concerned about adding bulk. I will definitely make this pattern again. It is well drafted and includes lots of pointers in the directions for a perfect sew.
