Erica Jong's work reveals the true nature of today's witches through art and through a factual presentation.
You have to agree the topic of witchcraft is not for everyone. No, it's not the Halloween witches you know, nor is it about flying broomsticks, warts, huge cauldrons of brew, or black cats. Sorry to disappoint you. Rather, Jong concentrates on the Wheel of the Year, the Sabbats of the Witches, the changing seasons and the mystery, the power, and the magic brought with each season. Witchcraft, as it occurs today, was largely invented by a man named Gerald Gardner who allegedly was a member of the New Forest Coven in England in the 1940's. He drew his experiences of Egyptology, Celtic mythology, the Rosicrucians and the Masons to create a New Age religion. This faith honors the Celtic goddesses and gods of pre-Christian Europe and focuses upon the power of crystals, herbs, Tarot, runes, music, nature worship, and chanting.The Wicca faith is realtively new, but it boasts more members to its doors than can the American Presbyterain Chruch.
This book is oversize, and has marvelous pen and ink and other types of artwork throughout. Jong's style is 'matter of fact' and she engages the reader's imaginatinon and sense of wonder. I would say this is a great coffee table book that lends itself to further study and appreciation. I learned a great deal from this work.

The perfect blue metal pitcher for serving.
I needed a new pitcher and selected this one because I have a matching bowl. I was taken aback when I saw the lustrous color and the smooth lines of the pitcher. I is exactly what I wanted. I will be using it to rack my dandelion wine, which is nearly ready for consumption. If I have an accident and drop this metal pitcher, no worries. This was a great purchase. Thanks.

A Robot you will come to love.
1 of 1 found this helpful We were skeptical at first as to how powerful this machine would perform. We have an upright Shark, and it is powerful. But, we decided to give the Ion a try. It powers up in its 'dock' and when the three ready lights come on, it's time to clean! It comes with a magnetic strip that acts like an electronic fence to keep the Ion out of mischief. We are fascinated to watch it clean, clean, and clean! We set our amazon Alexa for a given time, say 20 minutes, to let us know the Ion is finished. There are apps you can load onto your iPhone or Android phone to communicate with Ion. You can program your Alexa to tell the Ion to go to work! Unfortunately for us, we do not have that capability on our limited cell phones. But, maybe your phone could do it! We use "Robin the Robot" every day and keep her clean and shiny for the next day's work. We love it.
