Loads and plays discs quickly but...
At its introduction this unit was described at being the fastest at loading discs which is what attracted me to purchase this model. The disc loading speed, however, does NOT translate to web applications. Using Panasonic's "Vieracast" I was indeed able to VIEW my Amazon watchlist and play without issue. But browsing for new content is a nightmare. With each item view the lag time got slower and slower to almost totally freezing. I do not have this issue with my newer Sony blu-ray player so I can only suspect that its either the player itself or the Vieracast software. I am using a wired ethernet connection on a gigabit network which should be faster than my Sony's wireless connection. Otherwise, this is a great unit. I've connected it to my AV receiver using HDMI and the optical audio which works very well with minimal set up. If not for the problem with Amazon content searching I would have given it 5 stars.
