In Name Only
This is a film I saw on Turner Classic Movies a few years ago and liked very much. I thought Carole Lombard, who was known and loved for her comedic talents, seemed very sensative and romantic in a rare dramatic role for her. She truly was a stunner, and Cary Grant, of course, is his usual debonaire, sophisticated self in this film. No one plays this type of part better. Kay Francis gives a very believeable performance as the coniving, self-serving Maida, who has no intention of setting poor Cary free from their loveless marraige. Some may find this movie sort of dated, especially since divorce and infidelity are so commonplace today, but I loved it. It would have been interesting to see, if she had lived, Carole Lombard in similar soap opera-type roles.

This pic brought back a lot of memories of the Big Red Machine. It's a nice, sharp, quality photo that will be framed in my display case.

I love these reprint cards! They allow me to relive a bit of my youth at a reasonable price.
