The next step to scary sharp.

Going from the fine rod then to the strop made the edge very sharp. Now, going from this ultra fine rod then to the the strop made a noticeable difference in sharpness. The edge now is very highly polished.

Klein Tools 1005 Crimping/Cutting Tool for Non Insulated and Insulated Terminals

Excellent tool.

Old school quality. The pivot is quite tight at first but is wearing in nicely. For non insulated connectors I rate the Klein at 10. For insulated connectors 9. My cheap Chinese insulated tool makes a neater looking crimp than the Klein, but then again the Klein may take some getting used to.

Degen DE1103 DSP Radio Receiver FM / MW / SW / LW / SSB

Good radio. Chews through batteries.

I bought this to replace an earlier Degen 1103 pll version that saw daily use for 5 or 6 years. 95 % of the time on the FM broadcast band. Radio is in use aproxomately 4 hours a day most days. The good.... Excellent audio, looks and feels like it's of good quality. The ordinary.... Volume adjustment is a bit weird but you get used to it. Not sure if it's me or the radio, but the volume seems to drop very slowly over a period of time. The bad.... After a few days of ownership, volume could not be adjusted. Had to re solder a wire to the tuning / volume pot. Internal battery charger charges at I believe 100 mA stops working after about 30 mins even when charge time has been set for a lot longer. This thing drains batteries fast. I use Eneloop pro's and have to charge them daily with an external charger Overall.... Am pleased with it as I have a quality aa charger and a ton of Eneloops.
