Let's first start by stating that Timney makes fantastic replacement triggers. As for an older Ruger Model 77 with a tang style safety, this install is not a straight forward drop in 10 minute project. If you use the safety actuation rod supplied by Timney, you will be cutting out portions of your stock that may be noticeable when you are finished. I used the old rod and modified it with the addition of a little brass, I still had to modify the stock, but it was all internal and not visible when the rifle is reassembled.
These stainless steel retainers and guide are a must do upgrade for any pistol that has plastic retainers and guide. They cannot deform and them make the pistol function smoother.
I have used Leupold PRW rings for years and absolutely thought they were exceptional. Now that Leupold changed to the PRW2 version it was simply a cost cutting measure. On the original PRW rings, the two screws that fastened the bottom ring to the rail were recessed into holes that gave you both a horizontal clamping force and supported the head of the screw. On the new PRW2 rings, the recesses are gone and the screw heads are flat bottomed to simply have a horizontal clamping load without any support for the exposed screw head.
