Use Oust to Prolong the Life of Your Washing Machine

I've been using this product in my washing machine for 10 years or more and have no trouble with limescale build-up. I use both sachets at once and turn the wash selection dial to 'rinse'. Once the machine has filled with water, I turn the dial to the 60 degree wash. Doing it this way makes sure that the whole drum gets descaled, not just the outside half. I was advised to do this by an washing machine engineer. I do this every 6 months but only do, on average, one wash per week. Obviously, if you wash much more often you should descale more often.

Works well once you get used to it

The product is well made and well packaged. Self-assembly is not as simple as described, as some of the diagrams in the instructions are quite confusing. It took me over an hour to put the product together. Sliding the plastic brushes into the slots was particularly difficult, as the slots are very tight. I needed to expand each slot by wedging-in a screwdriver in front of each brush set as I slid it along. Once assembled, the product worked well, though it takes some practice with height adjustment. Also, it is not really suitable for uneven ground. The removable leaf collector is easy to empty and overall, the product is very useful and saves lots of bending.
