Making Ice Again!
My six year old Samsung refrigerator started making a strange whirring sound, which I traced to the ice maker. The problem lies with the heating element that loosens the cubes so the motor can eject them into the dispenser. Either the sensor or element was bad so the cubes weren't being loosened up. Without the heat the motor pushes on the frozen cubes. The removal and installation is fairly easy. The only tricky part is unlocking and removing the connector. Without pictures it is tough to describe, but you need to insert a flat blade in-between the tip of connector from the ice maker to refrigerator and push in on the lock. if you have the new part it should be easier to figure out. After installing the ice maker started making ice the same day.
