Go loud, but not low, sound is mediocre at best but LOOK amazing.
1 of 7 found this helpful I usually don't review products but these phones compelled me to write something because they are so close to being amazing but just frustratingly off the mark that something needs to be said.
1. First so you don't think I am just bashing these phones let me say that these headphones LOOK GREAT and are are constructed extremely well. In fact there are not many phones that can compare in their price bracket to their build quality.
2. Now for the bad, DO NOT listen to any reviews that say these phones sound great. They do not and are well below average in what they cost as far as sound quality.
I am an audio profesional and have heard maybe 50-75 different headphones over the years and these were one of biggest disappointments I have ever encountered.
Maybe because of all the reviews saying these sound great on the internet. I guess there are a lot of even more crappy sounding phones out there that I have not heard to say that these produce anything resembling good sound.
I did have a great sources and headphone amps to try and coax good sound out of these to no success.
3.To try an make some sense out of the good reviews I would say on the plus side is that they do go pretty loud have and have a strong but kind of boomy mid bass thump. Although the very lowest octaves of deep bass are completely missing. Not excusable with today's headphones, we can have loud and low these days.
The loudness these phones achieve is possibly one reason why you see some superstar Dj's use them. Loud sound is necessary to cut over a very loud sound system and isolate your headphone mix. These do this very well. I would also think they would be fairly good for tracking loud instruments in the studio but I did not even bother to try because I hated the sound so much.
Ok I hope V-Moda is listening because I really wanted to like your phones and would hope in the future your company would offer a model with sound quality to match the great looks and build quality. I read your site and yes sound professionals do appreciate consistent build quality but please don't confuse that with good sound.

Best Kraftwerk album...highly recommended
1 of 1 found this helpful I you only bought one Kraftwerk album, this would be my recommendation.
The album is timeless and can be played all the way through without having to skip
for less decent tracks.

Worst stuff ever...
This stuff is like tar. Maybe I am uneducated on how to use it but to me it smells bad, feels bad on skin, hair and floor of shower. No problem with the vendor, they are just offering a product from a company that up until now i liked everything i tried from them.
