The best cop show, ever --- or is it a soap opera?
In the first season it was nominated for more emmies than any other TV show, 27 I think. It has a featured cast of fourteen main characters, and lots of small roles that appear regularly. It layers each episode with several stories so different plot lines are always starting and stopping. I am entirely engrossed in the lives of the people in the Hill Street Precinct Station.

Get to know Sgt York, a WWI hero.
This is not a war movie. It has only a few scenes of combat. It is a character study of Sgt York, a hero of WWI. We learn about his early life in a rural community and the role religion played in it. We see him apply those principles to his wartime experience, and America's welcome upon his return. This is another enjoyable Gary Cooper film, of which there are many, but not enough.
