Review of the Kaito 200 radio
2 of 2 found this helpful Having bought two of these little radios I can pretty well be sure that Kaito's QC is good as both are almost identical in their performance.
The tuning is very sharp and it is somewhat difficult to zero-in on some stations. But other than that I found no deficiencies. The selectivity is very good and the radios bring in many AM and FM stations. And the sound quality at full volume is still good with minimum distortion. Although these radios are made in china, they are NOT representative of the junk that sometimes is associated with Chinese quality.

Radioddity SY-602 Retro Wooden AM / FM Radio Portable Table Cabinet Receiver US*
Not a good radio. Sensitivity and selectivity are poor. Sound quality is not good. Has only one small speaker not two. Wooden cabinet is covered with stickum wood grained vinyl. Has no tuning vernier.

Review of an AM/FM DIY radio kit
Sorry to say this radio never worked at all after I built it. Apparently there were some soldering problems with the SMD chip. Got no sound out of it at all. That means it is a throw-away. But in addition the lack of instructions in English and maybe a few photos caused me to get the volume control installed upside down. And the installation of the AM tuning rod and coil took several tries to figure out how it was to be installed. Finally, why use D-type batteries in such a small radio? AA or even AAA batteries would be more appropriate for this kind of radio in my opinion.
