Ultra Bright Chrome ?
Ultra Bright Chrome is bright, but it is not as shiney as a chrome plated bumper from a model car chrome tree.
I guess it is the best that is available.

Lionel "O" Gauge Switches
If you are building a traditional 1950's layout with "O" gauge track, the Lionel "O" gauge switches will work fairly well. Some of the older 1950's steamers will derail on the "frog", because the front trucks on these engines are not sprung hard enough to keep the front truck wheels on the rails. I'f you're building a state of the art layout with for instance using Gargraves track, the use of Gargraves switches is recommended. They are more precision switches and will preclude derailments if you're running post war steamers.
