2008 SILVER PROOF SETS
Im very excited about the possibilities for the 2008 Silver Proof Set. The initial mintage numbers reported in the 2010 "Whitmams Redbook Coin Guide" has this set listed as the lowest minted set since 1955,at a mere(620,664).This is the number of Silver Proof Kennedy halfs and Roosevelt dimes issued which indicate the same number of Silver Proof Sets issued. Taking into consideration the 1995 Silver Proof Set also had the Premeir Set, which is the same set with different packaging, the 2008 set has a mintage of about 60,00 less the the combined 1995 sets. Besides having the lowest minted Kennedy of any type produced,the 2008 Silver Proof Dime, Jefferson Nickel, and Lincoln Cent are the lowest minted issues since 1955. This also means the 2008 Lincoln cent is the lowest minted Lincoln Memorial Cent ever released. Don't over-look the Sacagawea Proof for 2008, it is by far the lowest minted Sacagawea ever issued with over one million less than the 2001 proof that sells for so much. With the large number of people collecting the Kennedy Half dollars I look for the 2008 Silver Proof issue to eventually surpass the 1995 as the highest price Kennedy Half issued. There are so many factors that make this set a great investment opportunity that I feel once the mintage numbers are made official by the mint in a few years that this set is a steal at the current selling price.
